Subject: A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No |
Bible Note: "If worm did mean "sin" which I believe it is steetching it a bit it wouldn't matter because we know swin was cast ON Jesus. But My arguement is this Sin had NO power over him nor did Satan. You show me one verse in the Bible that shows otherwise." I agree. Sin did not overpower Him, He yielded to it. If I yield to someone trying to kill me what will happen? They will kill me. If I yield to somone trying to take me somewhere I do not want to go, what will happen? They will take me there. Jesus YIELDED HIMSELF to take our place. He yielded Himself in faith that God would raise Him.Thus themeaning of "Into Thy hands I commend My spirit". By yileding Himself to take our sin upon Himself, He yielded Himself to Satan, but only until the time was up. At which time He was raised triumphantly. At THAT time He led captivity captive. Our sin offering is the blood, our victorious resurrection (the New Birth) is in His resurrection. Romans 1:3-4 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 1Peter 1:2-4 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, You said.. "What you are doing by making that claim is saying Satan had power over God! Which means he got his wish:" No, I am saying Jesus yielded Himself to the full measure of our penalty. Jesus' obedience did not depict Satan's AUTHORITY over Him...but He did yield to the powers of darkness on OUR behalf. OUR RANSOM. But because He was obedient and sinless Himself, Satan could not hold Him, He had power over the grave... Matthew 20:28 just as [Matt 8:20] the Son of Man [Matt 26:28; John 13:13ff; 2 Cor 8:9; Phil 2:7; 1 Tim 2:6; Titus 2:14; Heb 9:28; Rev 1:5] did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Ransom..the release of a person or property in return for payment of a demanded price. Let me ask a question...Who set the price for sin? God or Satan? God bless |
