1 | Divine Healing, True or False? | Matthew | Morant61 | 14881
Greetings Kimberly! You mentioned Luke 6:31-38. Here is the problem with applying this passage to money. First of all, there are two passages here: Luke 6:27-36 and Luke 6:37-42. Both of these passages are parallels to Mt. 5:38-42 and Mt. 7:1-6. Luke 6:27-36 deals with how we as believers are supposed to respond to those who mistreat us. The message is simple: If we respond lovingly to those who hate us, God will reward us with His mercy. This passage has absolutely nothing to do with money. The examples of the cloak, turning the cheek, and lending, all refer to examples of people taking advantage of you. How do you respond? By loving them, not seeking revenge. Luke 6:37-42 refers to the truth that we will be judged in the same way that we judge others. Our judgement or forgiveness will be measured back to us in abundance. Again, this passage has nothing to do with money. These passages are yet another example of how some of these "faith" teachers misinterpret Scripture to suit their false teachings. 2 | Divine Healing, True or False? | Matthew | HeirofGod | 14895
No, I am not just applying it to money. I have been trying to tell you all this for some time. Anything you sow, that's what you will reap. I teach faith also. My Pastor teaches faith. If you are not teaching faith then I see where the misunderstanding is. I know sound doctrine-and the whole Chritian belief is faith. If you don't have faith you can't even believe enough to get saved, that's why he gives us "the" measure. Then He knows if you don't have it you can't please him. He was pleased with Abraham because of his faith, He blesses us because of our faith in him to trust him. I am not just talking about money here Tim. Maybe that's why people are misunderstanding me.

Greetings Kimberly! Thanks for your response! I have two points concerning your response. 1) The problem is that money is not the topic of Luke 6:27-42. What is "measured" out is forgiveness or judgement! This is just one of many passages that "faith" teachers use incorrectly. 2) What is faith? According to the Bible, faith is nothing more and nothing less than trust in God. When I refer to "faith" teachers, I am refering to people who teach that "faith" is a power or a force that makes God do what we want. If I have enough "faith", God must heal me, ect... The problem is that this definition is not Biblical. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
