Again, you are not reading what I'm writing with the mind that you are going to listen to my point. You just wrote something that I said was my whole reason for giving. I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to give to the Glory of God. But since you said we don't give to get, let's see here. When you give a Christmas present don't you expect to recieve something. You can't say you don't because everybody likes to get gifts. We received the gift of salvation because God said we could have it, it was for us. We are the righteousness of God (saints), we need to start acting like it. Back to giving and getting. The reason most people don't get anything is because after they give they don't expect God to reward them. God said he was a rewarder of those who dilligently seek him. The first part of the scripture says that whoever comes to God must believe that he is. Now if he is God and he is a rewarder, why is it wrong for his children to be rewarded for doing something he told them to do. Plant seeds in good ground. I would not plant a seed in a ministry that is not bringing forth good fruit. Plus I expect to be rewarded for keeping the commandment. If you gave a family a house full of groceries because God told you to but that was your last hundred dollars, you did it but you were not sure what God was doing. Wouldn't you expect God to reward you for that. Well I expect God to reward me for keeping his Kingdom moving. Keeping his TV shows on the air, keeping local ministries from going under while trying to get kids off the street. This is where the saints of God come in. Yes he can make a sinner give his money to the Church, but he shouldn't have to. We should be giving the Church so much that they don't have to borrow anything. I wish you all understood, since you don't I am not going to further this discussion when it is an attack on my belief and on scripture. I'M STILL STANDING on the TRUTH. With Love and Peace, Kimberly Jones |

I’m sorry, when I give a Christmas present, I don't you expect to receive something in return. I have given Christmas presents before and later the person got me something because they felt obligated or something. I hated that! The Word says greater is he who blesses than he who is blessed. Guess what? The Word is true! I felt a whole lot better being a blessing than being blessed! Let God be true and every man a liar. If God rewards me it will be out of His love for me, not by me doing the “right” thing and somehow He being obligated to me. The Word says God desire obedience, not sacrifice. I work each and every day. I get paid once a week. If my employer came up to me and said, “I’m sorry, we can’t pay you anymore”. I would say, “I’m sorry, I can’t work here anymore”. If my dad called me up and asked for my help, I would be there in a flash. Because I love him, I would go without expecting anything in return. However, he might reward me greatly, because he loves me , but it does not matter to me either way. If I started expecting something each time I helped him out, he would start calling someone else, not me. He will continue to let me help him, if I continue doing it out of love. If he rewards me, it will be out of love, not obligation. My employer rewards me out of obligation not love. If we treat God like our employer, we will only serve Him if He continues to “pay” us what we think we are worth. If we serve God like a Father, we serve Him out of love not obligation. We are living according to the Spirit and we don’t have our minds set on the things of the flesh (Romans 8:5). If we start treating God like our employer instead of our Father, don’t think He will continue to use us to our fullest potential. God does bless His children in ways above and beyond what we could ever expect or imagine (Eph. 3:20), but it will be according to His will and love, not our formulas. In Christ Jesus, retxar |

Back up a minute, I was trying to show you that God wants us to expect a harvest after planting a seed. Every thing works in seed-time and harvest. It's just like cause and effect. If you plant a seed in good ground (whatever kind of seed) you will receive the same kind of harvest. IF you plant kindness you will reap kindness, if you plant corn you will expect a corn crop-but not the next day. Only God is that fast in rewarding if he so chooses. That's all I've been trying to say during this whole discussion is that God works on a seed time and harvest table. If your church needed to build a daycare center, what would they do. God says we will lend and not borrow. Church revenue is supposed to come from tithes and offerings-a seed is an offering. If you give to God he will give you more to give. This is how everything works. We need money to live in this world, right. That's why we get jobs. We pay tithes to keep the curse off of us and because we Love God. THis is a requirment. Giving is also a requirement, but he said it shall be given unto you pressed down shaken together and running over. HE also said that what a man sows that he shall also reap. So if you sow money you will get money, If you so hatred you will get hatred. I think we all need to study seed-time and harvest it is mentioned in scripture. IF you want to know where, I will find it and tell you. In Christ, Kimberly |

4 | Divine Healing, True or False? | Matthew | Norrie | 14660
Kimberly, I understand what you're getting at. I studied that for 18 yrs too. But don't get too caught up in waiting for a harvest. Expect it but don't act like it's the main objective. I guess that's where the faith ministers lose it. What you're saying is true, but then people start focusing on the harvest instead of Jesus, you know what I'm trying to say? Stay focused on Him. :)

Stay focused on Jesus!! Good word Norrie! Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Jesus Lives! |
