1 | Divine Healing? | Matthew | John Reformed | 71956
Dear Jesified, You wrote: "yes, it is God's will for us to be healed. God is no respector of persons. He want's you to be healthy just as much as He want's me to or Benny Hin, the Pope, Charles Manson, everyone." To support your arguement, you offered two statements: 1) Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christ refused to heal anyone. 2) He only does the work of His Father (John 5:30) You concluded "...so God wants us all in good health." I must say that you have founded your doctrine on sand. Where are your proof texts that positively affirm that it is God's will that every person who wants to be healed is healed? I would also like to know how you counsel people who pray for healing for someone but do not recieve it. Parents whose children die would be my example. John Reformed |

2 | Divine Healing? | Matthew | Jesified | 71959
John Refomred, You requested proof texts of God's will to heal. Matthew 4:23-24, 8:14-17, 9:32-35, 10:1, 12:15, 14:14, 14:35-36, 15:30, 19:2 Luke 4:40, 5:15, 6:17, 9:11 In each of these incidents, Jesus healed. The only place in the Bible that we find where Jesus was not able to heal was in His home town, which is very easy to explain why when we look at the context. Mark 6:1-6 "And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching" Notice verse 6 where it says "he marvled at their unbeleif." This is why He couldn't heal them; they wouldn't let Him, so He began to resolve the issue by teaching. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) Jesus taught so that they might hear and have faith to be healed. As for you second question, I may exceed the total 5000 charactor limit, so I'll answer that one in a subsequent post. Dear Jesified, I guess you were not able to offer any scripture that makes a positive affirmation concerning the will of God and healing. Please let me know if you find any (even one). You wrote: "As for you second question, I may exceed the total 5000 charactor limit, so I'll answer that one in a subsequent post." I guess it would take a lot of explaining (I don't want to be mean; I want to help you find the truth. Sometimes it requires frankness.) When you are a pastor you will have to deal with trajic deaths and nothing but the truth of God's Word will comfort the mourners. If all you can offer is that they did'nt have enough faith....well, that would be tragic as well. I suggest you look long and hard at the doctrines you are learning. Keep your mind open to the whole counsel of God. Read what your critics say and weigh it against Sccripture. Be a good Berean! John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." tribulation: 1) a pressing, pressing together, pressure 2) metaph. oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, straits (Strongs Concordance) God Bless You, John Reformed |
