Scripture ... Acts 6:1, 15:1ff; Gal 1:6-9, Eph 2:8 ... EdB, To answer your first question there were divisions in the church early about fair treatment, which was corrected (Acts 6:1). Then some Jews tried to impose their traditions on the Gentiles; where slight corrections were made (Acts 15:1ff). Some were preaching another gospel; where a warning was sent out (Gal 1:6-9). Take your pick on the first error. I think Luther wanted people to know that it was for by grace thru faith one was saved (Eph 2:8), but, others could say another point is more important. Searcher |

Searcher56 Thanks for your answer. Actually you were thinking a little earlier than I, Acts and first century versus then say around 300 AD. What I was trying to ask is I think everyone is in agreement that by the reformation the church was in trouble. What was the biggest problem, was it eve dealt with in the past, and when did it frist show up. Was it a product of Rome (paganism) or human nature (greed, ego, pride etc) Thanks again for you input.
