Greetings Jcsav! Clarifications are good things! :-) In a nut shell, everyone 'receives' the Holy Spirit when they accept Christ. However, not everyone is 'filled' with the Spirit. The disciples, in Acts, only received the Holy Spirit once, but they were 'filled' many times. I would say that being 'filled' with the Spirit is mostly what people think of when they think of being baptized in the Spirit. I hope this helps! p.s. - See post # 140281 for the Scripture references! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Could you please tell me what is wrong with Acts 2:38. Which I believe is the most direct and clear Passages in the bible as to what one must do the recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). I have been told to "believe" and you shall recieve it . I have been told to accept Christ and I will recieve it. Confess with your mouth and believe in you heart. But no one seems to want to believe Peter in Acts 2:38 | ||||||

Greetings Jcsav! Can you clarify what you mean by 'wrong'? If you are referring to baptismal regeneration, I have posted on this point many times before. I would recommend the following post: # 8755 This posts offers an explanation as to why water baptism is not necessary for salvation. If I have misunderstood you, please let me know!
