1 | Two Natures or One? | Rom 6:6 | Val | 209961
Dear Lionheart, yes I agree with your analysis. What I am saying is that you and I cannot see another persons heart as God does. He and He alone knows when Lionheart "was saved" and when "Val" was saved. I go by your profession and you go by mine. Now can we see the inner thoughts and mind of each other? No. That is why I say only God knows when and if a person "is saved". We go by the otherward appearance which also is a person's words but God knows each one's mind and thoughts, intentions, genuineness, etc. I can't say I know you are going to heaven because you say you are saved nor you me. What I can say is that you profess Christ. In the final analysis only God knows if you and I have a genuine faith. Faith in God is not a step one, two, three process although we present it that way. Faith is something that happens between God and the person. So many people have been told they are saved because they do this and that and get confused as to what salvation really is. It is an inward act between the Lord and the person. I can't say for sure I will see you in heaven. I can say you said I will see you. Does that make sense? Blessings, Val |

Val, It's always good to hear from you sis. You are of course right. Only you and God truly know. But here's something to munch on. Firstly our salvation is evidenced by a changed life and secondly one can only fake it for so long. Eventually that person gets exposed or comes to the realisation that they are not. Jesus tells us you will know them by their fruit. I've always liked Hebrews 12:1 God's given us all the evidence we need. In Him, lionheart |

Dear Lionheart: Yes you are right, a christian will grow, showing evidence of a changed life. Some grow quickly, some slowly but I believe a genuine christian will grow, change. Hebrews 12:1 gives us the conclusion of those people who had genuine faith, Chapter 11. We know for sure those people are in heaven. You made a good point. Thanks - Val

Val, Bless your heart dear. 2 Peter 1:3 Seeing that His divine power has granted to us pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and exellence. We have it all right here at our fingertips. Not our opinion but right straight from the author. It's a shame that allot of mainline Christian Churches don't teach discipleship anymore. Try studying discipleship with your friends and aquaintences. I promise you that you will know who is a disciple of Jesus and who is'nt. It will even help you draw conviction about your own walk with God. In Him, lionheart |
