Subject: Is Limited Atonement Bibical? |
Bible Note: John, it was Abraham Lincoln, I believe, who said he believed it wise to write a letter to someone with whom he sharply disagreed and really "let them have it" in no uncertain terms, no holes barred, to really let off one's steam and frustraton. Then, instead of mailing it, tear it up and toss it in the trash can. Retrospection shows me clearly that I'd have been far wiser to have followed Lincoln's example in the post which raised your ire and you perhaps in the response to it. But since the die was cast by both of us, it becomes now our burden to follow the example of the One who is far wiser than Lincoln ever was, and to forgive, thoroughly and deep-down, any hard feelings either of us has caused the other. This I do you and beg you do so to me. I prize your closing with "Your brother in Christ" and so I likewise close with, Your brother in Christ, thus denouncing the importance of our differences and embracing the importance of our agreements. --Hank |
