Subject: Are new worship songs scripturally OK? |
Bible Note: Definition of "Worship" ........................... The dictionary defines the word worship as "to honor a divine being or supernatural power" It defines the word honor as "recognition of one's right to great respect or to any expression of such recognition". Therefore, in the English language, a person is "worshipping" God by expressing their recognition of God's worthiness. This could be done by singing the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy" for instance. I understand that Searcher has a very rigid definition of the word worship, however, the vast majority of Christians and members of this forum believe that falling prostrate before God is only one, of many, ways to worship God. |
