Subject: Are new worship songs scripturally OK? |
Bible Note: You are so funny! Sometimes you speak a little off color, but I would never ask - do you read the bible. Because I know from reading your posts that you do. I know you have the very best intentions but, one of the reasons I tend to stay away from these type of discussion boards is, so many Christians think they have the inside track straight to God. The Saducees and the Pharisees all did in their day. Here are my thoughts: Jesus is my Lord. There is a reason the Old Testament is called the Old Testament. It is the old law. We don't still stone people to death for adultery now do we? Jesus came and gave us a new law. The New Testament. Love one another as I have loved you. Each person has an individual relationship with The Lord. Why did He come to earth? To redeem us? He could have done that without being born. But I believe He came to earth to show us that we CAN have a direct and personal relationship with Him. Mark, Luke, John and Matthew all had similar yet varying views of Jesus. Personal. Individual. I have a lexicon. I have a concordance. I have 7 different versions of the Bible. I pray ALL day. I'm not saying I don't prostrate myself before Him. I do. Oh how I do. Face first and usually weeping with both sorrow for my sins and joy for my blessings. I've got some wonderful stories to tell about those blessings if you'd care to hear some day. Hebrew words do not define my faith. I don't find it wrong that they define yours. That is how The Lord speaks to YOU! Rock on! May He grant you the strength and courage to continue your studies all through your very blessed life! Amen! (and a big hug) Lisa |
