Subject: If you live right, you are rewarded? |
Bible Note: Greetings, before you base your opinion on the way that God dealt with HIS children in both Testaments, how did He save them? Was it based on their obedience? Salvation is not a reward for good works or right living. No amount of right living will earn us God's forgiveness. His forgiveness is GIVEN based upon our faith in what Jesus has DONE. There is no difference between the Old and New Testament - without faith it is impossible to please God. We are justified by faith. Romans 5; Heb 9-11 Our forgiveness is wholly a work of God and not conditional upon "right living." As believers,we suffer the consequences of our disobedience, but we don't lose what God has freely given by His grace. We can't get any more forgiveness than we received through Christ at the moment of belief. |
