AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]. |
Bible Question:
"We must have scriptural support for all of our doctrines before we may accept their veracity." Thus the reason for the post being marked with the ??? "The spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit and is also called the spirit of God. To say that Jesus died spiritually would mean that the Holy Spirit also experienced death, which would imply that the Father experienced spiritual death as well." So when Jesus the man descended into 'Paradise" a part of Hell... where did the Holy Spirit go? God bless |
Bible Answer: Here is the rest. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. [KJV] Acts 2:24 through Acts 2:32 (DNT) . . .31he, seeing [it] before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption. 32This Jesus has God raised up, whereof all we are witnesses. Jesus was born of the Spirit and man. He was the only man living who had His spirit born again. He also was the only man whose soul (His mind will and emotions) was in subjection to His spirit. He was a man filled with the Spirit and so able to perform the works of the Father. He was sinless because His body was in subjection to His soul which was in subjection to His spirit which was in subjection to the Holy spirit. This is the postion God wants us to be in. He wants us to follow or be led of our spirit which is led by His spirit. Jesus is the picture of the Kingdom Man, something we cannot attain in entirety until we are free of our bodies influence. What does this have to do with what happened when Jesus died? This: Jesus gave His life his body for us. He gave up the spirit and died. The same death that we will die if Jesus’ return is after our bodies wear out. James 2:26 says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. [KJV]” Jesus hung on the cross as a natural man our substitute. He died as we die. His inner man was separated from His outer man. His outer man was placed in the tomb and His inner man went to Hades… Hell. Alfred Barnes says of the word hell, “In hell—. The word “hell,” in English, now commonly denotes “the place of the future eternal punishment of the wicked.” This sense it has acquired by long usage. It is a Saxon word, derived from helan, “to cover,” and denotes literally “a covered or deep place” (Webster); then “the dark and dismal abode of departed spirits”; and then “the place of torment.” As the word is used now by us, it by no means expresses the force of the original; and if with this idea we read a passage like the one before us, it would convey an erroneous meaning altogether, although formerly the English word perhaps expressed no more than the original. The Greek word “Hades” means literally “a place devoid of light; a dark, obscure abode”; and in Greek writers was applied to the dark and obscure regions where disembodied spirits were supposed to dwell. It occurs only eleven times in the New Testament. In this place it is the translation of the Hebrew. “I have the keys of hell and death.” In 1 Cor. 15:55 it means the grave: “O grave (Hades), where is thy victory?” In Matt. 11:23 it means a deep, profound place, opposed to an exalted one; a condition of calamity and degradation, opposed to former great prosperity: “Thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell” (Hades). In Luke 16:23 it is applied to the place where the rich man was after death, in a state of punishment: “In hell (Hades) he lifted up his eyes, being in torments.” In this place it is connected with the idea of suffering, and undoubtedly denotes a place of punishment. The Septuagint has used this word commonly to translate the word.” (Think like a Hebrew when trying to understand thinks spoken by Hebrews) We have established which part of Jesus went to the grave and where His soul and spirit went. All this is very interesting, but the question was “Where was the Holy Spirit during all this?” It is obvious that Holy Spirit was in the bleachers supporting the work of Jesus. Goooooo Jesus! Jesus preached the good news, Holy Spirit yelled 'PREACH IT'. Jesus led the captives captive, Holy Spirit yelle Amen, Jesus then defeated death so we no longer have to be concerned about the second death. And all of Heaven erupted in PRAISE. All the while God’s Spirit was encouraging Jesus and propbably doing the wave while satan and death cringed and groveled on the ground. The when the devil was made powerless, Christ was united with His body, His resurrected body, the one that is flesh and bone. The One whose life (force[used so you know what I’m talking about]) is the Holy Spirit (this will get a response). We who live in the earth now are flesh and blood. Our blood brings life to the members of our body. Ressurrected Jesus said He was flesh and bone. Only the Spirit of God could be giving life to His members. (Doesn’t He do that now with believers?). So the question of Where did the Holy Spirit Go is answered. Now we know the truth and are finally free. If this has offended anyone, I ask your forgiveness it is not my intent to offend. It is just the way I is. You'll just have to accept me Asis |
