Bible Note: Greetings John. Consider this scripture: "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people." Hebrews 2:17 Could Jesus be made like His brothers in all things without sinning? Yes! He too experienced the consequence of sin as our sin-bearer: separation. See also Hebrews 4:15-16 Believing in the triune nature of the Godhead, each member suffered the separation sin's penalty required. Yet, Jesus, the God-man was the revealed expression of this consequence - it is beyond me how anyone could reject such a great salvation! Eternal separation from God is a reality we would be wise to dwell upon . . .perhaps we too would be prostrate before the Lord, sweating great drops of blood in intercession for those who do not know the Lord. Just some sobering and self introspection thoughts to consider . . . mommapbs |
