Subject: One God, One Jesus Christ |
Bible Note: Greetings Ray! 'Elohim' is simply the Hebrew word for 'God'. It is plural in form. That is why the sentence seemed odd in terms of grammar! :-) As far as your question concerning is God a god, the Hebrew simply doesn't focus on capitalization. Isaiah simply says over and over again, 'I am elohim and besides me there is no other elohim'. You and I would say that He is not a god, but God. However, the Hebrew doesn't make that distinction.
