AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:5 Now I wish that all of you spoke in unknown tongues, but even more [I wish] that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater [and more useful] than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he translates or explains [what he says], so that the church may be edified [instructed, improved, strengthened]. |
Subject: IS TONGUES FOR TODAY? |
Bible Note: Searcher, Greetings, and thank you for your response, however, as I had mentioned in my post that this has been a well debated topic. The poster asked, "these people believe they get tongues by faith. What is the answer?" I have given my answer to the best of my ability. I agree with you, not everyone will be given the gift of tongues....only the ones who ask in faith. Can a person be saved by not being baptized or not speaking in tongues? This to has been a well debated topic, and my belief is yes. I want to be on the receiving end when it comes to gifts, and if tongues in one of them, then so be it. God bless |
