Bible Note: OK, I got a break to wipe the sweat off. 1. Do I believe in grave sleep? 2. Do I believe in a body, soul , and spirit or just a body and soul, or body and spirit. Regarding "grave sleep", to be frank, I hav'nt given it much thought. When I consider my own eventual death (should the Lord tarry) I am put in mind of 2 Cor 5:8. "we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord." What is your definition of "grave sleep" (sounds rather morbid, don't you think)? And what scriptures suggest that such a state even exists? On your 2nd question, again, though not completely ignorant, must confess to having but a partial understanding. I do know that the triune nature of man was considered heretical by the early church but it has been awhile since I read about it and will need to refresh my memory regarding the particulars. John |
