Bible Question (short): Would you? |
Question (full): Would you? If something is proved to be 100.00 percent correct, would it need to be added (to the Bible) at the future date that after it was fulfilled? Or, following that logic why was the prophecy of Isaiah and Jeremiah, along with all the other prophets of the Old Testament such as Daniel, been added to the scriptures before Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, the Christ, ever came to the Earth? It wasn't true at the time it was prophesized. It wasn't true when it was added the Holy Scriptures. (Just look at all of the prophecies that Christ had to fulfill. I’m not going to list them here, we all know how many there were.) It took faith in God to add these prophecies to our Holy Bible some 700 years or so before our Christ came. Faith in God! I was reading Spurgeon this weekend. I read three of his sermons on Faith. I’m at work, and I don’t take my volumes of Spurgeon anywhere. Two of the ones I read were in Volume 3, XVIII and XIX (there appears to be multiple editions of his printed word, so mine might vary from what you have.) The first was on pure faith alone (also available on the internet at: http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/0107.htm ), the second was on Rehab’s faith (also available on the internet at: http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/0119.htm ), and how her faith in God saved her. (Joshua chapter 2) It takes Faith in God, with faith you can do any and all things…. Off the subject sorry. The third sermon is on the Internet at http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/0107.htm as it is not in the few volumes of Spurgeon that I currently own. (I’d much rather read them in print than on the Internet, then I can Highlight them and study them much more in depth.) In fact a lot of the prophecies from the Old Testament (Daniel ‘s vision of the ‘end of times’ in Daniel chapter 8 to the end of his book to site just one of hundreds.) still hasn’t been fulfilled as of yet. Yet, it is still in the Holy Bible as a testament to what is to come. Yet we have faith that they are what they are, don’t we? I do. If God decided to tell any one of us even a just a wee tiny bit more, just a schmiggen more, would you listen? Would you do what God told you to do and write it down? Would you give it to other people to read as He commanded? Would you read it? Would you believe it, or would you simply dismiss it as heresy? Would you treat something new in the same manner the Jewish leaders treated Jesus, my Saviour, the Christ? Or, would you look at something new and think of it as a “God-send”? Would you have faith?
