Bible Note: Greetings Nobel - thank you for your words and good counsel. I think if you read several of my posts you will know that I do not go beyond what is written and always ask God to confirm His Word to me - I seek Him in His WORD first. I recognize the danger of hearing other voices and I want to be sure that it is indeed the Lord who is speaking. We are told to "test the spirits" How else do we do that but to go the God's Word for our authority? He has never failed to do as He has promised there! Experiences are my altar stones, reminders of God's sufficiency and supply. I depend upon His Word above all else. If God choses to speak to me through my cat, what prevents Him from doing so - but I do not seek to engage my cat for direction! You stated that "Dreams are not God’s communication with us." If they were for Joseph, what prevents Him from using them today? Not that I place any validity in what I dream, but if God chose to reveal Himself there, so be it. God know my every thought; he is aware of what I dream. Why should I not ask Him about those thoughts and dreams that trouble me? By His Spirit He has comforted me and no one can take that away. By His Word He has counselled me, and no one can remove that from me either. God has also corrected me through others; and He has revealed His nature through circumstances He has allowed to enter my life. I choose to be looking for Him - everywhere. Please do not misunderstand me Nobel, we have God's Word and THIS is where He most often speaks to us as individuals, BUT would you limit God by saying what He can and can not do apart from it? In Christ's love t |
