Subject: Speak from the midst of the fire to you? |
Bible Note: New Creature: I too would agree with you that God does speak to us. Not only by His Word, but the inner voice of the Holy Spirit. You and I agree that often His call to sevice is clear as the voices that are audable, but loud and clear to the point our soul within us has no doubt the Holy Spirit has spoken. I do believe that the primary source of the Lord speaking does come to us by the written Word of God. However, I can state that the voice of the Holy Spirit has spoken to me giving me a warning on one occasion, an instruction to go at once at nidnight to visit my Dad 300 miles away. When I arrived several hours latter my Dad was close to death, and I drove him to the hoppital with little time to spare. I believe with all my heart the Lord called me to prepare for ministry, and to ministry. My belief is that God can use dreams to direct us as well. When My wife and I were on our honeymoon we were asleep, and the Lord spoke to me in my sleep and told me to "wake up our time to die was not now". I woke up and carried my wife outside the cabin, it was on FIRE! The problem is that we had better be very sure that we are walking with to Lord so we are not led astray by the wrong voice of the evil one. One way to be sure is the Holy Spirit will never voice something against Scripture. The real proof is in the results, did what you were told come true, was what was said come to be? If not then that was not the voice of tyhe Lord. I wonder if Joseph wondered if what he heard about Mary was really of the Lord? What id Joseph did not go to Egypt as he was told to do in a dream? Do we think the Lord can not use the same ways to reveal Himself to us today? If we are closed to the voice of the Holy Spirit then we can not expect to be receptive if He does Speak to our inner soul with a non vocal voice. Any thoughts? Blessings. justme |
