Subject: Is 'once saved always saved correct? |
Bible Note: Greetings Joe and Mike! I have been following this discussion from a distance, and I have to say that you both have made some good points, and you have both been so gracious enough as to honesty display how you really think and feel about the subject of "once saved, always saved." I, myself, agree with Reformer Joe on this topic. However, I would ask that we as Christian brothers and sisters would not lose sight of our brotherhood in Christ, no matter how "absurd" a particular post may read to us.. Are we so quick to grind the axe with each other, and to chop down the relationship that we could have, all for the sake of 'gaining the upper hand?' Perhaps we should meet in love and see exactly what we DO agree on.. If there can be no common ground here, then perhaps the discussion should be dropped before it can hurt someone's reputation or cause more harm than good. You see, the very insunation that someone here is an "unregenerate" or 'not saved' is a very serious allegation indeed! While I agree that we must correct each other, we must also see fit to do this in respect; that is, if we wish to be respected by others. I sincerely ask and "make a motion" that we would assert our brotherhood as Christians! Relationships are too easily discarded, and we must seek to build each other up! Joe, I remain impressed by your zeal for the truth! Your posts are very accurate with pinpoint precision! Mike, you have impressed me with the depth of detail and the use of Scripture in your posts, and I am glad that you have found this Forum and have chosen to spend your time here with us! You are a very good and welcome addition to this Forum, and I foresee that you will bless many others with your insight! Blessings to you both, Makarios |
