Subject: Is 'once saved always saved correct? |
Bible Note: Joe: You have written 100s of very fine postings -- all Scripturally supported and well reasoned. Your post of Tue 01/22/02, 7:06am, re "once saved...", is one of your most excellent. I am very much in agreement with you here. You ask why any of the NT writers have ANY reason for hope if they can never be sure... In support of your position, I reply: One could never have security of an insecure salvation. There IS a system of confession plus penance in order to maintain one's own salvation. It is found in the Roman Catholic Church. Perhaps the revolving-door religionists would be happier if they aligned themselves with Rome. You noted unbiblical theology on the part of the other poster. I would point out: Whoever lightly rejects or dismisses the plain Scriptural truths in your previous Note needs not only theology lessons, but also reading lessons. It seems there is a current epidemic of Bible dyslexia here on the Forum. Thank you, Joe, for being the voice of reason crying in the wilderness of Biblical illiteracy. Grace to you, kalos |
