Subject: Isn't believing Christ for salvation suf |
Bible Note: Greetings George! I could respond in kind my friend, but I'm going to leave my response as a very simple statement. Paul said 'Beleive and you will be saved'. How I am 'mistranslating' that very simple statement my friend? There is ONE requirement listed for salvation, only ONE. The rest of Scripture also consitently states that we are saved through faith alone. Eph. 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." 1 Cor. 1:21 - "For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe." 1 Tim. 4:10 - "(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe." Heb. 10:39 - "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved." And, what did Jesus say? John 6:28-29: "Then they asked him, 'What must we do to do the works God requires?' 29 Jesus answered, 'The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.'" Now, without being insulting, would you please show me where Scripture says that faith is not sufficient for salvation? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
