Subject: Isn't believing Christ for salvation suf |
Bible Note: Justme, hello! The 'withering on the vine' description of believers who have allowed themselves to become lax and complacent wasn't meant to have any soteriological overtones :-). It's merely my observation that some sincere believers can and do, on occasion, lose some of the zest and gusto for their Christian walk that they once knew. As people grow older and the arthritic pains rise and the energy levels fall, it takes more effort and calls for more resolve sometimes to attend worship regularly or to witness to someone about Christ. I'm 68 and speak from experience! But that's all I meant. I wasn't attempting to address more serious stuff like apostasy or to question whether believers who have allowed themselves to lapse into the rut of apathy were ever truly regenerated in the first place. That's much too weighty baggage for me and I dare not presume myself capable of lifting it! Blessings to you too, justme, and I do hope you are coping well with your physcial problems. You're in my prayers still. --Hank |
