Bible Note: No, Ezekiel, that is not what we're saying at all. Baptism is important, no doubt, but no where does it say that you must be baptized by water in order to be saved! Baptism by water is an outward and public sign or symbol to show an inward baptism, which is done by the Holy Spirit! And I believe that this inward baptism, or change, comes upon you at the moment of salvation. Therefore, you are dead to your old self now, and must begin anew with Jesus! This is why Jesus says, "You must be born again." Yes, being baptized is very important, and we continue to be led by the Holy Spirit every day, pleasing Him. But we are baptized into His death and Resurrection as soon as we confess Him as Lord of our lives! This is why our 'old self' has been buried with Him in baptism. This is why all believers are in one faith, one baptism. Its all because of Jesus Christ! And I can speak from the experience of this. I can try my best to explain this in English, but it would be much better to do it with the tongue of angels. :) I hope that this sheds a little more light on the subject for you, Ezekiel.
