1 | Rowdy, Rowdy, are you sure? | 1 Tim 2:9 | DocTrinsograce | 132524 | ||
Sir, I have made every effort to be humble, without being obsequious. I have maintained my probity. On demand I have offered answer, example, opinion, and speculation as appropriate. Christ directed us to turn the other cheek. In our environment we cannot strike with the hands, since we are in a world of nothing but words. So, if there is striking, it is done with words. I am not a great or important person. Far from it. I can forgive any word said against me, because if you knew me like my Savior knows me, you would find many more valid, more egregious, more hurtful things to say! Brother Ed, in your tradition the Holy Spirit plays a supremely significant role. I do not mean any disrespect here at all. What is the Spirit communicating with you about all of this? I do not know how you were wounded by someone who embraced the Reformed perspective. I do not know if you are simply wrestling with some inescapable conclusions or convictions. I wish I did know the root of the problem. I wish that I could fix it all for you. I wish I could bring healing to you. Sadly, I cannot. All I can do is offer you my compassion and friendship. Sir, if it makes you feel better, I humbly apologize for anything I may have misstated, misrepresented, or inaccurately reported (Matthew 5:41). I retract any statement that I have made with which my Lord would not have approved (1 Cor 2:11). I hold nothing to your account and I gratefully accept your generous offer of forgiveness. I do not see any benefit by further participation in this dialog, therefore I humbly withdraw. In Him, Doc |

Doc, Please sir, i'm so confused. I've followed every single post on this thread. I really don't want to butt in but what does your screenname mean? It seems to be important to you and to others, but I can't make it out. I'm still to this forum and I'm trying to learn. I'm a freshman in college, so many of the terms mean little to me, but concerning what's where in the Bible, I'm fairly familiar thanks to the blessings God gave me as a child. Your younger and confused sister in Christ, Jo |

Greetings Jo - Questions of a personal nature such as this are best identified as a "note" so they are not posted as a general topic for consideration by the whole Forum. Please complete your user information under "Resources" so that we can learn a little more about you. Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings Jo - I will pray for you and your friends(s). Have you read "Share Jesus Without Fear" by William Fay?(There is also a video series on this)Go to Amazon and read the commentary. See if this might be helpful to you. One of the very best things I learned from this was the simple fact that no one leads another person to Christ - it is wholly the work of the Holy Spirit. If HE is not at work in the life of an unsaved person, don't attempt to "share Jesus" with him/her. When someone tries to take his/her life, it is usually the result of hopeleness or despair. Perhaps you are being called to be a beacon, pointing the way to the safe port in the storm. Let the light of Christ shine in your life with unconditional love and compassion for this hurting soul. God will accomplish HIS purpose both your lives. Blessings and prayers, mommapbs PS - Forget about the "freshman 15" stay in God's Word; you'll "starve" without it! |
