1 | Where did the Holy Spirit go? | 2 Cor 5:21 | gracefull | 83119 | ||
"We must have scriptural support for all of our doctrines before we may accept their veracity." Thus the reason for the post being marked with the ??? "The spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit and is also called the spirit of God. To say that Jesus died spiritually would mean that the Holy Spirit also experienced death, which would imply that the Father experienced spiritual death as well." So when Jesus the man descended into 'Paradise" a part of Hell... where did the Holy Spirit go? God bless |

Hi Graceful, Was God’s son Jesus, a spirit person like his Father, before coming to earth? (Php 2:5-8), but later “became flesh,” residing among mankind as the man Jesus. (Joh 1:14) Completing his earthly course, was he “put to death in the flesh, but [was] made alive in the spirit.” (1Pe 3:18) His Father resurrected him, granted his Son’s request to be glorified alongside the Father with the glory he had had in his prehuman state (Joh 17:4, 5), and God made him “a life-giving spirit.” (1Co 15:45)?? Did Jesus thus became again invisible to human sight, dwelling “in unapproachable light, whom not one of men has seen or can see.” that 1Ti 6:14-16 speaks of? Truthfinder |

Hi Truthfinder, Thank you for these Scriptures. May I use these references to show how I see their message? Let's start with Genesis where I believe we see the Man Jesus Christ who was the image of God. Genesis 1:26, "Then (God) said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;..." Phil 2:8, "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore also God highly exalted..." John 1:12-14, "...even to those who believe in (His) name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,..." 1 Peter 3:18, "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust,..." John 17:11, "...Holy (Father), keep them in Thy name, the name which Thou has given Me,..." 1 Cor 15:27,28, "For He has put all things in subjection under His/ feet. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection", it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to (Him). And when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, that God/ may be all in all." 1 Timothy 5:21, "I solemnly charge you in the PRESENCE OF God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principle without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality." 1 Tim 6:13, "I charge you in the PRESENCE OF God, [the One] who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, [the One] who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,...16 [the only One] who alone posesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light;..." Romans 8:14, "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Compare/contrast 2 Corinthians 5:20, "Therefore, we are ambassadors for (Christ), as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
