1 | One God, One Jesus Christ | 1 Cor 8:5 | pcdarcan | 134812
Interesting the last statement in this quoted excerpt from: http://www.revelations.org.za/Elohim.htm "First of all, 'God' is not a Name, like 'Peter' or 'John', but a Title - although most believers seem to think that the Name of the Most High is "God". If it is not a name, then there can be no question of whether it is a 'holy' Name or not, in the same sense as the titles: Priest. Master, Judge, etc. do not necessarily refer to exclusively holy offices, but may even be used in idol worship or devil worship. The Bible itself refers to Satan as 'the god of this world . . .' (2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Jo. 5:1)." |

Greetings Pcdarcan! The last line of the quote in your post reads: "The Bible itself refers to Satan as 'the god of this world . . .' (2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Jo. 5:1).'" Here is the text of both of these verses: 2 Cor. 4:4 - "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 1 John 5:1 - "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well." Where does the word 'Satan' appear in either of these verses? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

the gods this world can be no one other than satan. the devil lucifier, or what ever you want to call. the acutal word satan dose not have to be used to describe this deceiver. But it is so good the know that there is a true and living God who is here for us to help us live according to his commandment. Amen.

Greetings Matron! First of all, welcome to the forum! Secondly, I disagree with your statement that the word 'Satan' does not actually have to appear in the text. Pcdarcan has made repeated statements that 2 Cor. 4:4 says that Satan is the god of this world. This statement is not factual. 2 Cor. 4:4 says no such thing. The question is 'Who does the blinding?' Interestingly, John 12:40 uses the same exact word in it's quote of Is. 6:10. John 12:40 says, "He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn—and I would heal them." In Is. 6:10, Jehovah is speaking. So, 'Who does the blinding in 2 Cor. 4:4?' I would say that Jehovah does the blinding. Further, in Is. 43:10, Jehovah tells us that there is NO OTHER GOD besides HIM! Therefore, it would be a violation of this direct statement by Jehovah to say that Satan is a god.
