Ok, I have talked to some peeps and I have done some studying so here we go! The word "Word" in the Hebrew language is "logos" which means plan. In the begining God had a plan. This plan was to create someone with whom to give the ability of choice. Adam and Eve took this freedom for granted when they sinned meaning they did not chose God. God decides to give this plan a second try, but this time instead of creating this being of choice out of the ground He used a virgin woman to bare a son of which He dwelt. So therefore we see how that this plan has become flesh. There was no Father, Son, and Holy Spirit back in Creation. It was just God. For God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and Jesus Christ, the Son, is the expressed image of God (Hebrews 1:3). How then can this Son be if He were not born yet for He wasnt born until the New Testament? |

'The word "Word" in the Hebrew language is "logos" which means plan'? ??? In the Hebrew language? The word "Word" is "logos" in the GREEK language. Plan? "WORD. ([the GREEK word] *logos*, Strong's # 3056) denotes (I) 'the expression of thought'--not the mere name of an object--(a) as embodying a conception or idea...(b) a saying or statement...(c) discourse, speech, of instruction, etc." (Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words). 'John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 'Word 'Gr. "Logos" (arm. "Memra," used in the Targums, or Heb. paraphrases, for God). The Greek term means, '(1) a thought or concept; '(2) the expression or utterance of that thought. As a designation of Christ, therefore, Logos is peculiarly felicitous because, '(1) in Him are embodied all the treasures of the divine wisdom, the collective "thought" of God 1 Corinthians 1:24; Ephesians 3:11; Colossians 2:2,3 and, '(2) He is from eternity, but especially in His incarnation, the utterance or expression of the Person, and "thought" of Deity John 1:3-5,9,14-18; 14:9-11; Colossians 2:9. 'In the Being, Person, and work of Christ, Deity is told out' (Scofield, C.I. "Scofield Reference Notes on John 1". "Scofield Reference Notes (1917 Edition)". (http://bible.crosswalk.com/Commentaries/ScofieldReferenceNotes/). 1917. According to Strong's KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon, 'A Greek philosopher named Heraclitus first used the term Logos around 600 B.C. to designate the divine reason or plan which coordinates a changing universe. This word was well suited to John's purpose in John 1.' However, this word is not at all suited to your purpose, HamsteRulz. Your posted explanation of the word 'logos' would best be preceded by the phrase "Once upon a time...". |

I'm not sure why I said Hebrew cause I got the word from the Greek New Testament. I meant to say Greek but I guess I accidently said Hebrew. Now, I'm not sure what you were trying to get at with your post, Kalos, but I ask you ... how do you explain that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were present before the New Testament times rolled around? And I want to see Scripture not no mumbo jumbo from Strong or any other different references. I want Scripture. You can include the references later. |

Greetings HamsteRulz! You seem to be a sincere young man who desires that God's truth be revealed to you thru His WORD. No one here wants to attack you, your beliefs, or your church. No one cares a bit about “winning” any kind of debate. However, we would all like you to PLEASE accept what the Holy Spirit reveals to you thru His WORD, not our words. The Pharisees asked Jesus the same question you are asking. PLEASE, observe and accept Jesus’s answer without any pre-conceived notions that your church or anyone else may have told you. Joh 8:56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." Joh 8:57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." Won't you reconsider your previous stand? Not based on what I, Tim, Kalos, Searcher, Ed, Joe, RevC, Hank, Makarios, or anyone else said, but based on what JESUS alone said? Jesus is Lord! retxar (Gen 1:2, Gen 1:26, Joh 1:1-2, Joh_1:14, etc., etc.) |
