Hello nimrod2 Let me chime in as one following the discussion. The difficulty appears to have come when you made the following statement: "Here we clearly see the land being subject to a year long Sabbath day" (Mon 04/15/02, 12:46pm). If you had stated "a year long Sabbath", not using the word "day", I don't think there would have been much of a problem. Steve |

Steve: I have been reading the posts to this thread and have come away with the same conclusion you have -- 'If you (nimrod2) had stated "a year long Sabbath", not using the word "day", I don't think there would have been much of a problem.' All of us would avoid needless confusion and misinterpretation of our postings if we used the English language more precisely and chose our words more carefully. The point of my posting is not to take sides in this debate. It is merely to emphasize that we have a greater chance of being understood if we say what we mean. Words do have meaning and we can only know what someone else means by what they say. |
