1 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | John Reformed | 93142
Dear LDS, I believe you are reading into the parable your own meaning. Matt 17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" Matt 17:20 And He *said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Notice that Jesus said "...if you have faith the size of a mustard seed...". He did not say if you have faith "like" a mustard seed. John Reformed |

2 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | DarcyA | 93144
Read Heb.11:1 It states, Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. What I see there it is knowing not maybe. For example you must have faith to be saved. or in other words you must know what Jesus did on the cross was efficiant, not that it might be efficiant but IS efficiant. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Rom 10:17) And the bible states "By His stripes we were healed" I believe that you either have faith in that verse or you don't. Its black and white. You will either believe that you are going to be sick or that God is going to heal you. |

Could you please respond to my initial post before turning elsewhere? The subject was the parable of the mustard seed. You used it as a proof that faith may be small to begin with but can grow to a great size. I disagreed and sought to correct your error by a re-examination of the text. Let's settle that issue first.
