Scripture ... Matt 4:10, John 4:20-24; Rev 4:10 LisaMarie, Proskuneo (Strong's 4352) is the NT word for worship ... it means kneeling or prostration to do homage (to one) or make obeisance, whether in order to express respect or to make supplication. Does "I'm not Hebrew and I don't follow Jewish practices," mean you do not read or follow the OT? Why did you quote the OT? Yes, listen to the Holy Father and not men, not even me ... -If you search the Scripture, the Holy Father will show you that there is one way to worship, by definition. -That God is not your Friend, when you worship (along with other names and attributes). -There are some activities that aren't related to worship, tho some men say they are. -You must prepare for worship and there is not a specific place. Steve (Searcher): Friend and brother, we've been through this worship topic, I'm aware, more times than a circus dog jumps through a hoop, but let's take one more short trip around the mulberry bush, o.k.? Now, I've never been very high on ritual, and that includes getting my body in a certain contortion before I worship God. I'm not a young sprout anymore, and it takes more and more time for my knees to heal when I kneel, and I experience agonizng frustration when I attempt prostration...... But I can kneel before Almighty God with my will, my heart, my mind. I can prostrate my spirit before the King of Kings. I can still do that. And, after all, which is the more important act of worship -- to worship God with the body bent hopelessly out of shape, or to worship Him in spirit and in truth? --Hank | ||||||
