Subject: "Once Saved Always Saved" |
Bible Note: Well, There, one can't judge an entire religion based on one or two priests. What you've mentioned above ARE things that changed. It's true, priests used to teach not to read the bible because we lay people would surely misinterpret it. They changed that. They know that's a mistake. (Although, I did read a very good book called The Body about just how people of faith can be misguided by following someone elses misinterpetation. Back to the subject...) There will always be those who resist change. Those who want the old way. Who knows what their reason is. My eyes start rolling back in my head after listening to them for too long. I think your neighbor believed because he wanted to. I'm always shocked at how many Christians don't (and or won't) read the bible. They'll give many excuses. But the truth is just laziness. To give them credit though, not all bibles are written the same. Many are unaware that there are different translations, and at many different reading levels. Hope your weekend was grand. We welcomed a new family member. Baby Jenna Rene. My uncle's first. God bless her! Lisa |
