Subject: "Once Saved Always Saved" |
Bible Note: Hi Lisa, I have some great news for you about your post. (Oh how I would LOVE if we could actually be Universal Christians.) All of the (true) believers in Jesus Christ are universal Christians! God is building his church, and it is not an organization but an organism. Every member of this church has heaven assured. You will find that the members of this elite group don't place emphases on a particular denomination they just lift up the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for them. God has assured each of them eternal life buy giving them the down payment, His Holy Spirit. Those that aren't members of this group yet, can't say with absolute assurance that they will go to heaven. Sins are no longer the issue with this group because Jesus has paid for all their sins, past present and future. The only thing that sin does is it knocks them out of fellowship, and believe me that makes them miserable until fellowship is restored by the function of I John 1:9. True Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. All of the ones that have this relationship have been baptized and water wasn't even involved. Ephes. 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Did you know that all water baptisms are just ritual? The dry baptisms are the real ones that count. Every one that has ever lived on this Earth is going to receive a real baptism and it is Jesus Christ that is going to do it. There are only two real baptisms, one for those that are completely trusting in Jesus for salvation and those that aren't and the later grope takes in all of the religions of the world. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: The baptism with the Holy Ghost is once saved always saved and it has to be obtained on this side of the grave. The other option takes place if one does not completely trust in God's provision for salvation, His Son Jesus Christ. My wife was a Roman Catholic and I was a protestant and we were both lost. There was a point in my life when I turned to the Lord and called on Him to reveal the truth of His word to me I didn't know what religion was right, let alone what church. I just prayed and ask for His help. I started reading the only Bible that we had, which was my wife's, and from that time on God's word absolutely came alive to me. I gave up every thing that I was hoping would get me to heaven and turned to Jesus and what He had already done; I put as it were all my eggs in one basket and trusted in Christ completely. When I did this God revealed to me, from His word, that I had eternal life right here and now and I couldn't lose it! I didn't do anything to get it and I couldn't do anything to lose it; it all depended on Jesus and he never fails. There wasn't any sin that could condemn me because my Savior paid for all of them. I was so happy that I could scream; this was the most fantastic news that I had ever heard in my entire life and I wanted everyone to see it. The problem was now, everyone thought that I was nuts. Then I remembered the verse of scripture that says the only way a person can understand what I had found in Jesus would be if God himself would reveal it to them and this would be how He would build His Church. So you see all true believers are universal Christians but not all (so called) Christians are truly trusting in Jesus Christ for their salvation. Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Religion is man by man's efforts or works trying to gain God's approval. True Christianity is God doing all the work, and man just accepts it by faith and as a result God give those that completely trust in Jesus, eternal life as a free gift. In Christianity God gets all the credit and praise. So now Lisa you see where I stand. I don't want to be a protestant a catholic or and anything. I just want to tell everyone about my precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and what He did for them on the cross! So that they will drop all of the denomination stuff and Christ will save them.
