Bible Question:
Good Morning EdB! Thanks for responding... When you said 'the scripture God’s owes no man', I thought of Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. KJV He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done. NIV He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and that which he has given He will repay to him. Amp One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed. NTL Can you point me to 'the scripture God’s owes no man'. Thanks again for taking the time to response. Abba Father bless you... |
Bible Answer: Mbooker Forgive me I can’t locate the exact wording I was thinking for. I now suspect the exact wording I’m looking for was either a translation or side bar commentary on one of these scriptures. I have looked at each and haven’t been able to find that exact wording. However if you read these I list below you will see the meaning is very clear God owes man nothing since God has given man everything he has. We also see very clearly that God does what he pleases as He is sovereign. To make the claim God HAS to do anything flies in the face of these scriptures. Psalm 50:10-12 "For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11"I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. 12"If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains. Psalm 115:3 But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. Job 35:6-8 "If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him? 7"If you are righteous, what do you give to Him, Or what does He receive from your hand? 8"Your wickedness is for a man like yourself, And your righteousness is for a son of man. Job 41:11 "Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. Acts 17:24-25 "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; EdB |
