Bible Question:
EdB please answer... I noticed by your profile that you enjoy apologetics/ and the study of the cults... Can you please tell me why there are so few writers that will name the Catholic church as a cult. Yet in the study of cults myself, I find that the definition given for cults fully fit the Catholic church. If she is not a cult, please explain to me how she is Christian. And which definition for cults does not fit her? I was raised in the Catholic church and read my way out... and it amazes me that so few Christians will address the real issues. I never missed catechism class or mass in 33 years... yet never once was I led in the sinners prayer or even told that I was a sinner needing to be saved. The word “saved” was what I thought to be a protestant term. If she is Christian, why was I lost right in the midst of her? I was as devout as I believe I could have been. |
Bible Answer: Yeah, I agree with you. By definition, she is completely cultic. I would like to hear what some of our Hanagraffites have to say about this. Those who are so fond of cutting and pasting from brother Hank's website should drop you a line. I really wonder how a man can say that Kenneth Hagin is the biggest false prophet in the church today when the prosperity gospel doesn't even come close to the heresies propagated by the Catholic church. As you, from experience pointed out, they don't even teach the basic fundamental doctrines of christianity. Not to mention, all over the world they worship Idols. Praying to and burning candles to statues of "saints" is pretty cultic. Is it NOT cultic/heretical to pray to and worship Mary? If it's not worship what would you call it? Indulgences, transubstantiation(?), confession to priests who pardons your sins after works have been performed, hail Mary's etc, purgatory (and paying the priest to pay you out of it, hmmm, sounds a lot like false "profits" to me.) Time does not permit me to continue. How many pagan rituals has the catholic church incorporated into it's "worship" in the past 2000 yrs? I would really appreciate apologists here in this forum and on radio giving as much time to REAL APOLOGETICS as to it's pet peeves of "health and wealth". Perhaps they don't want to offend people praying to someone other than God, but think it's OK to blast those who believe God is so good it's always His will to heal, even if He cannot for some strange reason. I wonder what's more heretical, paying a priest who will pray to Mary to get grampa out of purgatory, or believing God wants to bless humanity. But I digress. I'm glad you found your way out. Cheerio! |
