Subject: cult by what definition? |
Bible Note: In the Andes What are you saying? That if you see a problem in one organization you can't say anything about it unless you point out problems in all organizations? Are you saying if someone was to ask me if Word of Faith was cultic I could not answer unless I also addressed all the problems with Mormons, JW, Islam, Etc. On the issue of prosperity as taught by Word of Faith since you brought it up, which view do you hold of God and Heaven? As a genie whose lantern you hold and if you rub it just right the genie must perform your will. Or do you view heaven as the big slot machine in the sky and you send in your money and hope to hit the jackpot. One teaching I love from the WoF is where they take scripture and show how God with take the manna from the unrighteous and give it to the righteous, yet they themselves the teachers of WoF live strictly off those that listen to them. Makes me wonder about the listeners. Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, I firmly and truly believe at if we honor and worship God with our tithes, God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing such as we won’t be able to contain. I have seen it happen in my life. First we have to understand blessing, God will not turn us into spoiled brats that soon become useless or lazy bums that live off other people. Blessings can be in the way of health, children, children that aren’t drugs, even provision, and many other things or blessings, however God has promised only to meet our needs, not our wants. There are those that will say my third and fourth paragraphs are cheap shots and for that I repent. :-) EdB |
