Subject: oops! another question :) |
Bible Note: In the Andes You asked a legitimate question let me attempt to address it. The question you asked: Could someone please tell me why the same rules that condemn WoF do not carry the same condemnation to the Catholic doctrine? At least not from Kalos' cut and paste article. First the major cult watch organizations have established criteria for what is a cult and what isn’t. Whether that is done rightly or wrongly I will not argue. The Catholic church to yours and many others dismay does not fall within the criteria established for a cult. Again rightly or wrongly I will not argue. On the other hand WoF does fall into that criteria. Therefore by the “experts standard” it is considered a cult. That may be to your dismay, but again I repeat it wasn’t I that did the classifying. I think we all will agree that there are saved and unsaved Catholics and WoF members. The problem at hand for all of us is to reach those that are not saved and show them the way. You then made a statement, “But, just let me mention health or wealth and watch all the panties bunch up.” I think your problem can best be summed up by comparing your responses defending WoF and Emmaus’ responses defending Catholicism. To the best of my knowledge Emmaus has never offended or belittled anyone to make a point. In every discussion I can think of Emmaus has conducted himself as I would expect Christian would. In other words his fruit spoke highly of him. It may be your have so endeared yourself to all of us that when you say anything we get our “panties bunched up” EdB |
