NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |
Subject: Have we been resisting the holy spirit? |
Bible Note: Thanx Tim! i finally understand why the term 'Person' was used. i believe that each member of the Trinity is a thinking, feeling, relating Being, not simply a natural force too, just that i refer the Holy Spirit as a 'Spirit' and not a 'Person' because i was not able to find any references to text that indicates clearly that the Holy Spirit is a 'Person'. and because i did not find the text references that you have given me on the previous post, i did not know how to reference to the Holy Spirit (usually referring as "it"). as such, there were many confusion that people think that i do not believe that the Holy Spirit is not simply a force, but one of awareness, feelings, capable of works, ... etc helped me you did! :) but can you tell me how was my answer useful in telling you where i am from? or rather can you tell me where you think i am from? leolipwee |
