NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |

Bible Note: yes you may call me leo, that's how my other brothers, sisters and friends have too called me. ;) About the expression 'being in the spirit' (or Spirit?), i have something additional that i want to share and perhaps you have a different revelation from mine. i noticed that while we know we HAVE the Holy Spirit, i think it is different from being IN the Holy Spirit. i sorta think that the difference is that whenever we HAVE the Holy Spirit, he presents to us witness to the truth and helps us as JESUS would have. But when we are IN the Holy Spirit, we have more gifts, like speaking in tongues, having teachings, revelations, knowledge, and even prohesies. but i think we don't have all the gifts as mentioned above, because we are not FILLED WITH the Holy Spirit. To me, i feel that its our faith in His Name that will position the Holy Spirit, enabling us to have different gifts. i have prayed for such faith too. For me, my young walk with JESUS has pushed me from faith to faith, and it showed me tremendous works that i praise Him for. i pray that it had been for you too and hopefully, for those unbelievers out there in this forum. Shalom be in you Hank, leolipwee |
