NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |
Subject: Have we been resisting the holy spirit? |
Bible Note: Greetings Ray! I'm getting ready to go to bed, so I'll have to give you a short answer for now! :-( I don't see any evidence or reason in Scripture for making a distinction between holy spirit and Holy Spirit. I believe that the Holy Spirit is the power of God, but that He is the 3rd Person of the Trinity, not an 'it'. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are literally indwelt by the Holy Spirit, not simply filled with power. Good night for now my friend! I hate 3rd shift! ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
