NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |

Bible Note: that's true Hank, the Bible IS the singular revelation of God to man. :) letme explain why i have those impressions (or revelations that we common call them), taking notice that the Bible pointed the Holy Spirit in the direction of speaking in tongues, having teachings, revelations, knowledge, and also prohesies. in Acts 1:4, the unbelievers being FILLED with the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues, justifying what was mentioned in 1 Corinthian 14:22. not only that, they understood one another. But they don't HAVE the Holy Spirit, as seen in Acts 2:38, because they have yet to recieve it. Again in Acts 4:8 and in Act 4:31, we see the gift again. There are many others passages that shows that the Holy Spirit is not only a witness to GOD, it gives the person knowledge, teachings, revelations, as well as prophesies. As such, i don't think there are "SPECIAL POWERS", its just the Holy Spirit at work. Anything special that men attest to are just to boast men's PRIDE, the very thing that JESUS didn't like the Pharisees to do. All the wonderful works are done through the Holy Spirit by GOD in JESUS's name, like healing. But revelations, that's part of the reason why JESUS gave us the Holy Spirit. You have it too and it has been actively showing you new ways to look at GOD, hasn't it? :) i gladly recieve your prayer, and i pray that my eyes will not stray away from the Bible about GOD's words. thank you Hank.
