AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 1:10 ¶ But I urge you, believers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in full agreement in what you say, and that there be no divisions or factions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your way of thinking and in your judgment [about matters of the faith]. |

Bible Note: Dear ED, The fact that our theology is imperfect does not mean we should not set forth our beliefs for all to see and consider. Of course, if we discover a flaw (even our most cherished doctrines) it should be changed to reflect a closer resemblance to the truth. Without stated beliefs, how are people to know if we are a church or a cult? There are false churches who woo the unsuspecting into fellowship by not being open and honest about what they really believe. If you moved into a new area of the country where your denomination did not have a local church, how would you go about choosing where to worship? Would you be satisfied on the basis of emotion and and feeling good about it? Would you not desire to know (as soon as possible) what to expect in terms of doctrine? I certainly would. John |
