NASB | 1 Corinthians 1:10 ¶ Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 1:10 ¶ But I urge you, believers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in full agreement in what you say, and that there be no divisions or factions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your way of thinking and in your judgment [about matters of the faith]. |

Bible Note: Are we purhaps looking for carnal unity? In the marriage unity sometimes has to be achieved by submission of the wife, and not necessarily agreement. If a husband and wife can't come to perfect agreement, how could we expect millions and millions of believers? I believe we must focus on the fact that we are one in the Spirit unified by the Holy spirit into one body despite our differences as long as Jesus is the foundation of our faith. Purhaps we should stop viewing various denominataios as 'different' and view them rather as brethren in One Body with some differing views. When we see Jesus instead of looking through a glass darkly, we will all see all things clearly. I do agree that there is only ONE Truth and that God's Word is not open for various interpretations. And we should be able to reason together, but until the Holy Spirit CHANGES someone's understanding, they are not likely to change. Beliefs do not change with intelectual knowledge. Beliefs must be changed by the Holy Spirit. That is how I view this matter, God bless |
