NASB | 1 Corinthians 1:10 ¶ Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 1:10 ¶ But I urge you, believers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in full agreement in what you say, and that there be no divisions or factions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your way of thinking and in your judgment [about matters of the faith]. |
Subject: Labels? My church just goes by the Bible |
Bible Note: John I never suggested discarding anything we hold as true. What I was suggesting was is the things we hold as true really true, or could the another point of view be more correct? Have we really explored all the possibilities? I think not. A true understanding of a passage can only yield one totally correct answer that agrees with the rest of the Bible, without modification of word, form, or content. Today there are approximately 1600 different interpretations of what is correct. Obviously not all are in regards to the same point but each has found something that was enough for them to separate themselves from the other groups. My question is there that much ambiguity in the Bible or have we left our human nature stop us from really finding the truth? I think the later. If that is so does Christ afford us that luxury? EdB |
