Subject: Who, besides the elect of God,are saved? |
Bible Note: Excuse me Ed, I really don't think I misses the point at all. All men are born into the world "in Adam". They suffer, along with Adam (their federal head), the penalty of Adam's sin which is spiritual death. Therefore the Bible declares the sons of Adam as "dead in trespasses and sin". This is the "natural state of unregenerate man." It is impossible for him to believe. Why? The Bible says "he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised." How then can any natural man have faith in Christ. Again the Bible says that those who the Father gives to the Son He "draws". The greek for "draw" in john 6:44 is helkuo which Strong's defines as 1) to draw, drag off 2) metaph., to draw by inward power, lead, impel... So it is not simply wooing or persuasion but the overwhelming hand of God which brings us before Christ: "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me? Now what? Jesus said "all that come to me I will in no wise cast out but will raise up on the last day". How is it that those whom the Father draws and gives to the Son all believe? Again, the Bible provides the answer: Ezek 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,". This "heart transplant" is accomplished by the Holy Spirit." There is much, much more proof from Scripture which may be added to my poor little synopsis, but time does not permit. This doctrine has been condemned as blasphemy by some on this forum. Blasphemy is a serious issue. Those accusers had better be prepared, to show their proof from Scripture of how it supports their charge, lest they be found to have committed perjury against a brother in Christ. God Bless, John |
