Bible Note: Just to set the record straight, I didn’t say, as you claimed I did, “You're right, O.T. people were believers by keeping the Law.” I didn’t even suggest that in my post, I merely ask if that’s what you believe. I believe that O.T. believers were saved the same as we are in the N.T. and that’s by putting all of their faith in Christ. The only difference is that they looked forward to the promise of the coming seed, which is Christ, and we look back. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. We are saved the same way that Abraham was and he lived before the law was even given. Galatians 3:17-19 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Have a nice day, CDBJ |
