Bible Question:
That is a fair question. I can not do that. I have merely heard the matter discussed. These matters have been repeated so many times, I do not doubt them. In addition to that, the news does not supply information to the contrary. Can you document anything to the contrary? Actually, back to the main reason I came here was to try to understand why Christians do not participate in the culture war. I would prefer you to address that. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Pete2 - You asked: "Why Christians do not participate in the culture war?" My answer is simple - lack of obedience to the cultural mandate given in Gen 1:28. Christians have retreated into coccons, most I suspect because they do not want to be "corrupted" by the world. Yet in doing so, they have removed their influence from society. Our charge to "subdue the earth" - which IMO means to bring all creation under the dominion of God. Man is to glorify God in all that He has created. Yet we ignore His design and order for our lives by choosing to glorify autonomous man. I suspect many Christians are ignorant of the "war" that they are in. The battleground is fought in the mind. (Romans 12:1-2)The "worldview" that one embraces will ultimately be reflected in our choices. (Prov 23:7) Sadly, Christians have perhaps not taken God's commands to heart, and some may not truly believe all that God has said, notably "Greater is HE who is in you than he who is in the world." (1John 4:4) Off my soapbox for now. mommapbs |
