Bible Note: Hi EdB, In looking at these Scriptures I see another example of deciding about the inclusion of "Himself" in the translation/interpretation. Not only can we look at Luke 24:36 but also at the disputed ending of Mark 16 [And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.] I think that the disciples did not believe that He had been resurrected. Whether they didn't believe because of joy or because of hardness of heart I don't know. It is an unbelievable hope that we have in Christ; that is, being resurrected with Him. But I think that if we keep our minds fixed on the things of the Spirit, we can be assured of this hope. From the heart, Ray |
