Subject: short and long version of Mark 16:8 |
Bible Note: Ray dear friend In Mark 16:13 it says the two went and told the rest and they did not believe them. In Luke 24:34 it says the two went to the eleven and those gathered with them and they were rejoicing in Christ's resurrection. Therefore it appears that Mark's account is saying that when the two from the road of Ermmaus met with the disciples the disciples did not yet believe Jesus had arose and did not believe their account. However the account in Luke's gospel says when they met with the disciples the disciples were rejoicing in the resurrection and apparently accepted their story. EdB |
