Subject: Salvation: Instantaneous, progressive? |
Bible Note: Greetings charis, There are many verses in Scripture that I can share with you that would better explain salvation.. Here are a few: Exodus 15:2, Psalm 46:4, Matthew 18:3, Luke 19:10, Acts 4:12, Colossians 1:19-20 1 John 1:7-9 - which explains that the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin when we confess and are forgiven of them at the moment of salvation. And all of our sins are removed, even those sins that were committed when we did not know Christ (Romans 3:25, Ephesians 2:1-9). As for eternal life, yes, I believe that it is ours upon receiving salvation! The scripture that I would cite to support the fact that we do indeed have eternal life at the moment of salvation is John 6:44-47, John 5:24, John 3:14-17. Some other Scriptures to support salvation are: Romans 5:1-2, Romans 11:6, and 1 Cor. 1:21.. Randy, you just cannot argue with Scripture, my friend. If you weigh what you have learned through experience with that which is plainly showed to us through Scripture, which would tip the balance? Wouldn't the weight of Scripture far outweigh any experience that one may have had? I hope that this helps to explain my reasoning behind not trusting or totally relying upon our experience to answer such intricate and important matters like salvation. For that, we must go back to the "Handbook to salvation", which is God's Word. Blessings to you, Nolan |
